Verdicchio
The Signature Grape of Marche
A vast and layered territory, shaped by hills that change character from one valley to the next and by towns that tell an ancient story of migrations, civilizations, and transformation. It is within this landscape that Verdicchio dei Castelli di Jesi finds its origins: a grape variety that has adapted over centuries to the contours of the land, becoming an integral part of its identity.

The Classico Area and the Castelli di Jesi
Verdicchio dei Castelli di Jesi is produced across an area that encompasses 25 municipalities, a mosaic of rolling hills stretching between the inland countryside and the Adriatic coast, where human activity has shaped the landscape for centuries. Here, history is not linear but layered, marked by ancient settlements and villages whose roots extend from the Piceni civilization to the flourishing communities of the Middle Ages.
This is a land that preserves traces of its past, where agriculture has long been intertwined with culture and tradition. Vineyards are naturally integrated into the landscape, following the contours of the hills as if they have always belonged there. Verdicchio thus becomes the expression of a broad yet cohesive territory, capable of producing wines that are diverse in character while remaining unmistakably linked by a common origin and identity.

The Classico Area represents the historical core of Verdicchio, the oldest and most emblematic part of the denomination. Here the landscape becomes more defined and recognizable: gentle hills, varying elevations, and vineyards alternating with villages and historic towns. It is a territory where viticulture has deep and enduring roots.
The climate is shaped by the meeting of cool mountain air and the breezes that rise from the Adriatic Sea, creating a unique balance that plays a decisive role in the expression of Verdicchio.
The soils, which vary from one zone to another, combine limestone, sand, and clay, forming a mosaic of micro-terroirs reflected in the complexity and character of the wines.
